Deck Conn Launch Notes
September 1, 2026 — the 1.0 corvette is on Steam. Here is what actually shipped.
September 1, 2026 is the date. Deck Conn (Deck & Conn on the box) left wishlist limbo and became a buyable Steam build. These launch notes record what the store and the MicroProse press kit said on that day so later patches have something to contradict.
If you have not installed yet, read Getting Started and the system requirements next. This page is the timestamp, not the tutorial.
What shipped
- Game: Deck & Conn, branded Deck Conn on this wiki and in many search queries.
- Studio: Funtime Electrics (Elissa Black), published by MicroProse Software.
- Store: Steam app 3828500.
- Modes: Single-player, Family Sharing. No multiplayer, no PvP listed.
- Language: English interface. No French, German, Spanish, or other Steam language rows at launch.
- Platforms: Windows 10+, macOS Sequoia, Ubuntu 23.10+ / GLIBC 2.38.
- Price: $14.99 list, introductory discount advertised (about 20% in store roundups) with a mid-September 2026 end date on some storefronts.
- Achievements: 14 Steam achievements listed.
- Steam Deck: compatibility unknown on day one.
Feature list that is now “live,” not “coming”
The launch press restated the 2025 announcement and added operational language:
- Start the reactor and run a departure checklist on diegetic terminals.
- Manage reactor output, batteries, fuel, auxiliary power, sensors, propulsion, weapons, defenses.
- Turn-based tactical battles with range, positioning, and subsystem targeting.
- Active and passive sensors, incomplete reports, coded orders, distress calls.
- Dynamic campaign of war patrols, upgrades, and crew promotions.
- Standalone combat scenarios.
- Capture or destroy hostile ships.
- Pixel-art CRT presentation inspired by early 1990s MicroProse and 1971 Super Star Trek.
That list is why the wiki is shaped as guides, tier lists, crew, and tools instead of a codes page. There are no live-service gift codes in this design.
Launch trailer and first media
MicroProse posted a reveal trailer in 2025 (f10tfiqdDdw on the homepage) and a release-date teaser in August 2026. A launch trailer accompanied the September 1 press release. Use those videos as mood, not as a hidden tutorial. Written checklists beat a 30-second CRT montage when the reactor is actually yours.
What we still do not have on day one
- An aggregated review score (too few Steam reviews at launch).
- A published full keybind table (use in-game controls).
- A named crew roster.
- Steam Deck verification.
- Extra interface languages.
- A multiplayer promise.
If any of those arrive, they belong on the Updates Hub first, then in the relevant guide. Do not assume they are already in your build.
First-week captain plan
- Buy or refund inside Steam’s rules after the two-hour test in the review.
- Run the departure checklist and one standalone fight.
- Fill the power planner once on paper.
- Start a campaign patrol with a quiet-intercept doctrine from the tactics list.
- Make one deliberate capture or destroy call.
- Promote nobody until crew has a sentence that explains it.
Official pointers
Store, publisher social, and trailer links are collected on the links hub. This wiki is unofficial. If Steam news disagrees with a sentence here, Steam wins, and this page gets an edit.
Welcome to the forever-war. Keep a reserve.
One more launch-week warning: store tags such as Tactical RPG and Open World are community tags, not a promise of an overworld you can parkour. What shipped is a command centre, war patrols, and standalone hunts. If a tag made you expect a live-service map, read Getting Started and the review before you write a confused Steam post. The box art was always a corvette and a CRT.
